Experience and expertise
Kent qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1968 and thereafter obtained a post graduate degree in taxation from the University of Cape Town. He is an honorary life member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and former Chairman of its National Tax Committee.

Kent specialises in the South African tax system including Income Tax, VAT, Capital Gains Tax, Estate Duty and Donations Tax – in particular how these taxes affect both South African residents and non-residents receiving or paying amounts subject to such taxes and the legal planning for their minimisation. He also deals with South African Exchange Control Regulations as they apply to residents, non-residents, emigrants and immigrants and advises on estate planning including advice in regard to Wills and Deceased Estate administration.

Kent is the immediate past Chairman of the editorial panel of Integritax which published a monthly tax journal for the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and is also a member of the local tax committee of the Institute.

Kent is also a regular lecturer on tax matters and a former University lecturer.

Ronnie's main areas of expertise and enjoyment are in assisting private clients and in particular family and owner managed businesses.

With effect from March 2026, Ronnie retired from Practice and now serves as a consultant giving accounting, management, income tax and estate planning advice, as well as advising in regard to exchange controls and acting as a commercial and general financial advisor.
